Though officers' terms in ASQ-SF are based on the fiscal year (July to June), the process for accepting nominations for officers begins in December. If you're interested in serving in a leadership capacity in ASQ-SF in 2009, please contact the Nominations Committee Chair, Rob Power.
The minimum slate of positions required by ASQ are:
Chair Secretary Treasurer
Membership Chair Internet Liaison Audit Chair Newsletter Editor Nominating Chair Programs Chair
Vice-Chair is an optional office that we currently have in ASQ-SF, but which is not required by ASQ.
The nominations timeline is as follows:
December Section Member Meeting - Nominating Committee Open Call for Candidates from membership, e-mail and postal mail to Members, announcement in Newsletter and on Website.
January Section Member Meeting - Nominating Committee Call for Candidates closes; Nominating Committee evaluates candidates with input from Section Leadership Committee.
February Section Member Meeting - Presentation of Candidates from Nominating Committee; announcement of process and deadline (by March Member Meeting) for filing Petitions for Candidates with Section Secretary.
March Section Member Meeting - Declaring of slate of new officers by acclamation if not contested, announcement of contested election.
April Section Member Meeting - Presentation of Candidates (contested election), Election of Officers (if required) by members at meeting.
May 1 - Officer Entry (by Section Chair) deadline This timeline allows for the development and training for the new Committees (and the new Officers if needed) during April, May and June.
